This week, in "Checks and Balances" I steal a riff from Jonah Goldberg and develop it into "Goldberg's Law." Britney Spears, Madonna, and Christopher Hitchens are mentioned. I, of course, hope you like it!
Posted by jk at June 20, 2003 10:29 PMI believe you have missed just a bit with your postulation on the political corollary of Netwon's Third Law. This law states that for every action there will be an equal and opposite reaction. The reaction generated in the politcal arena is opposite but never equal, always an over-reaction. Thus the pendulum always swings, in defiance of the futile graspings of the moderates as it moves through the center.
