This week (after a long absence) jk gets back to work and shares his heartless and churlish response to 9000 good people who lost their jobs in "Mr. Schumpeter, Call Your Office!"

On the subject of good riddance to obsolete jobs, don't forget the IRS. I hope that the blogsphere helps to educate the electorate that the only taxes we should be paying are objectively fair flat rate taxes. The army of revenuers who enforce the house of cards that is the Federal Tax Code should be furloughed.

Amen to that. I think I saw that the number of people we devote to tax accounting in this country is 17 times the number devoted to national defense. Imagine, indeed, all of those people creating wealth.

CREATING wealth? Methinks you set too lofty a goal. I'd settle for eliminating the DRAIN on wealth those people represent. The tall, healthy, diverse and very green WEEDS along my irrigation ditch come to mind.
