I just love to quote Dennis Miller rants. He says what I want to say, but with a prodigious amount of humor. JK and I recently expressed sympathy and solidarity with the people of Spain in the wake of cowardly terror attacks against their capitol city, only to be stunned by the Kerryesque flip flop in their anti-terror strategy: Elect socialist terror-apologists who claim to believe an international coalition of Neville Chamberlains can smoke the peace pipe with people who say "You love life, we love death." Dennis shares my dismay...

Saddened as I was by the vote, I am not sure I *blame* the Spanish voters. Maybe it's my love of Hemmingway and Orwell, but I think more of Spanish history as the 20th Century struggle between fascism and Communism (and some folks don’t like the choices WE get!)
They are in Europe and their economy is depressed by decades of bad government. They made a mistake but the whole continent has to wake up. Wake up, guys -- it's late!
--and another thing -- what did you think of the exchange with Eric Alterman?
I have loathed Eric Alterman since the first time I read his garbage. I was interested to see how Dennis could possibly conduct one of his typically cordial interviews with a man I knew in advance to be extremely bitter, vitreolic and anti-Bush. The first time through I didn't pick up on the cues that set Dennis off. When I replayed it though, knowing what reaction was coming from Dennis, I noticed when Alterman mockingly asked himself a question rather than allow Dennis to engage in the dialogue, and when Dennis tried to get a word in edgewise later I noticed when Alterman said, "let me finish... just let me finish." Then I understood why Dennis said, "Sure, just finish the ______ segment." After Alterman finished his "monologue" Dennis was, I think, justified in his sarcastic "You've been great Eric, come back any time" while looking straight into the camera. Hey, at least he patted Alterman on the shoulder as the camera panned to commercial.
