YTJGITS?

I don't want to make light of faith. Please accept my new bumper-stcker in good humor, but it seems a pertinent question.ytjgits.jpg
You Think Jesus Gets Into These Situations?

I'd love to comment on this sticker but I don't know where to start. Can we have a bit more explanation?

Okay, maybe it's not funny. A popular bumper sticker is WWJD? a reminder to people of faith that when they don't know what to do, they should ask themselves "What Would Jesus Do?" presumably to do it themselves.

I suspect that by the time the WWJD question has been asked, a very un-Jesus-like error has already been made.

“Okay, I got high on crack last night and robbed a liquor store. Then my wife caught me with some cheap hooker. Well, let's say this same thing happened to the Son of God...”

Perhaps we should print these and WWND What Would NED Do? stickers -- then we could pretty much offend everybody!

Interesting. I always presumed the admonition WWJD applied to one's reaction to the un-Jesus-like errors of others. Like when you get cut off in traffic by a cheap hooker who'd just robbed a liquor store on her way to buy crack.

To the extent that the WWJD campaign is an effort to promote moral behavior using the imperfect but widely recognized symbol for morality, I'm inclined to commend it. Unfortunately, the anti-liberty aspects of Christian morality interfere with more widespread acceptance of objectively moral behavior.
