"Treason against Rock'n'Roll!" says the 56 year old rocker.
Besides being a Republican himself, he questions the mix of politics and rock:
"If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal."Despite his strong insistence that rock has no place in politics, Cooper is one of just a handful of high-profile musicians who've proclaimed support for Bush.
The list of pop-culture Republicans includes Britney Spears, Toby Keith and Ted Nugent, the latter being one of Cooper's old buddies from his early days in Detroit.
Always reminds me of the Moody Blues lyric, "I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band". Maybe they could set up a concert and play as a group, Cooper, Nugent, Spears, and Keith.
