Hubris

I am not really over-confident. I am a worrier by nature and Senator Kerry has always seemed to have every chance of winning this election.

Looking at the map today from electionprojection.com, my sanguinity-meter is drifting a little into the green. Today's map shows the President picking up 285 electoral votes. Looking at the red, I see Iowa, Florida and New Hampshire as questionable but the rest look pretty solid to me.

In the blue, I think Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Minnesota are in play, with a possible but slim shot at Oregon, Maine and New Mexico.

No, I don't believe the President is up by 14 points -- but I do like the look of this map. A lot.

Yay Pennsylvania!
We elected Santorum. We can't be all bad...

Counting on you in PA, Alex. And Sugarchuck in Minnesota.

Johngalt and I seem to have Colorado in pretty good shape for W. My biggest concern now is getting Pete Coors in the Senate.

Coors is doing better than we thought. From realclearpolitics.com:

Poll | Date Sample MoE Coors(R) Salazar(D) Und Spread
Rasmussen | 9/16 500 LV 4.3 49 48 1 Coors +1
RMN/News 4 | 9/12-13 500 LV 4.3 42 53 4 Salazar +11
Tarrance Grp| 8/24-26 600 LV 4.0 43 47 10 Salazar +4
Rasmussen | 8/19 500 LV 4.5 45 49 4 Salazar +4
SUSA | 8/14-8/16 618 LV 4.0 48 47 5 Coors +1

And the "Salazar supports Kerry's tax hikes" ads are just starting to run.

I've seen the Kerry tax increase ads - hey I watch Fox News to balance out NPR. Anybody know where the $142 billion number comes from?
