jk compliments media figures

That should get your attention! Mr. snivel-and-whine, anti media bias and Chairman of the Bernard Goldberg Fan Club thinks that two PBS (PBS!) personalities did a good job in the debates.

Jim Lehrer and Gwen Ifil were reasonable thorough and very balanced in their treatment of the Presidential candidates. I have read a lot of people, with whom I frequently agree, say that both showed clear bias for the Democrats.

I blogged a Dvid Greenberg TNR Column with what I thought were excellent suggestions to expand moderators beyond journalists (and I suggested bloggers). If we are to be stuck with Journalists, I’ll give Jim Lehrer high marks. Ms. Ifil seemed to lack the gravitas of some others, but I thought that she was fair – which she is not on “Washington Week.”

Cool. I have always thought Jim Lehrer to be very objective, (as in not biased - down John Galt) but being a liberal I perhaps cannot detect bias when it is biting me in the butt.

I never watch his show on PBS (just habit, not a boycott) so I cannot speak to his objectivity as a reporter.

Gwen Ifil's biases are legion -- she is a beta noir of the Media Research Council and I have seen as much bias as I have watched Washington Week in Review. But, I think she was perfectly fair in the debate.

Bob Schieffer was on Kudlow & Cramer last night, hawking his book. He is an affable chap, but he said "I will be asking questions about the important issues: health-care, the economy, and jobs.

Not bias or anything, just this guy thinks the most important issues are ones where government has no right to intervene. That is gonna be a long night...

And Charlie Gibson gets high marks as well for the second debate.
